A cyclist has been reported for summons by police after a young child was knocked down in Blackpool.

Lancashire Police has said a 23-year-old man from Blackpool has been reported for summons for dangerous cycling.

It follows an incident on May 18 where a three-year-old was struck by a bike allegedly ridden along the pavement of Collingwood Avenue, Blackpool.

Lucie Wilding was caught on the bike’s pedals and dragged along the pavement.

The child, who had been leaving her family home with parents Matt Wilding and Lauren Howarth, was left with cuts, bruises and burns to her face and needed hospital treatment.
