Blackpool Magistrates' Court

Blackpool Magistrates' Court

A customer punched a manager at a Blackpool pub in the face.

Jamie Brawley, 20, of Ruskin Avenue, South Shore, pleaded guilty to assault.

He was bailed to April 17 for a hearing where evidence from both prosecution and defence will be heard by Blackpool magistrates.

Philippa Jones, prosecuting, said a manager at the Old Bridge House pub, Lytham Road, believed Brawley was smoking cannabis and escorted him out on January 13.

Brawley dragged the manager to a bus stop and punched him twice in the face causing a cut to his chin and near his eye.

Steven Townley, defending, said throughout the evening Brawley said the manager was antagonistic to him and ended up spitting in his face.

Brawley felt provoked, he said.
