A convicted paedophile broke the law when he play fought with two young children who hit him with plastic bottles.
The children’s mother did not know Jon Grime had a conviction for two offences of raping a child.
Grime, 56, of Saville Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to breaching a Sex Offenders Prevention Order (SOPO).
He was bailed for pre-sentence reports.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Grime was put on the Sex Offenders Register in 1998 for life for two offences of raping a 14-year-old girl.
In 2008 he was made the subject of an indefinite SOPO.
The order bans him from having contact with children, apart from fleeting or inadvertent contact, unless a child’s parent knows about his conviction and is approved by social services.
Alan Godwin, defending, said Grime had lived at the flats for nine years.
The grandchildren were never left alone with Grime.
