A VIOLENT man has been remanded in custody after admitting being behind a nightclub attack.
Joey Hoban was described as the ringleader of a group attacking club doormen when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard the 25-year-old, of Rectory Road, Marton, had already been thrown out of Club Sanuk when he was seen by police attacking a doorman in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Hoban was one of five men involved in the attack, punching and striking the doorman, but the others ran off when an officer shouted “police taser”.
He had been thrown out of the Promenade venue for punching a man in the face in the VIP area and then kicking him in the head while he was on the floor.
Hoban pleaded guilty to affray and assault causing actual bodily harm.
The resort’s magistrates remanded him into custody for sentence on April 11 at Preston Crown Court.
Martin Hillson, defending, said Hoban admitted punching the clubber once in the VIP area.
