A former boyfriend who headbutted his ex on the nose in front of one of her children was branded disgusting by magistrates.

Richard Stinson claimed his former girlfriend’s new man had commited sex offences and that he was worried about his ex’s two children, on November 18 Stinson, a 43-year-old former timeshare salesman, of Courtfield Avenue, North Shore, pleaded guilty to assault.

He was sentenced to a 12- month community order with up to 15 days’ rehabilitation to be supervised by the Probation Service, 200 hours’ unpaid work for the community and told to pay a £150 court charge, £75 compensation to his victim, £85 costs plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Presiding magistrate, Barry Birch, told him: “The bench is disgusted by the fact this took place in front of a child.”

Gary McNulty, defending, told magistrates they had been arguing and Stinson said there had been an accidental clash of heads.
