Child sex beast caged... again

Colin Milton, 45, of the rear of Henry Street, Blackpool.

A CONVICTED child rapist who went on to attack a young girl in Blackpool is once again waking up behind bars.

Colin Milton was jailed for four years after sexually assaulting a girl under 13, whom he met after being introduced to her family.

The 45-year-old, who was previously jailed for six years for sex offences including raping a child, touched the girl over her clothing twice when he found himself alone with her earlier this year.

Preston Crown Court was told a sexual offences prevention order, which included a bar on him having any unsupervised contact with children under 16, had been granted against Milton in August 2009.

Paul Brookwell, prosecuting, said a man the defendant knew introduced Milton to his partner and he visited her home around 10 times.

Milton told the man about his conviction for having sex with a girl under 16 and the man then went on to tell his partner.

She in turn spoke to her daughter, who disclosed she had been sexually assaulted on two occasions.

Milton, of the rear of Henry Street, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults and one offence of breaching the terms of a sexual offences prevention order.

John Woodward, defending, said Milton’s guilty pleas had saved the girl having to give evidence.

He said: “He recognises he has done wrong.

“He doesn’t feel his behaviour would have increased.”

Mr Woodward explained his client led a lonely life, with no family or friends.

He added: “He craves a family-like environment.

“He has extremely low self esteem.

“He feels unable to form any relationships with females of his own age.”

Judge Jonathan Gibson also put Milton on six years extended licence, which means he will be supervised in the community when released from prison.

He said: “It seems to me you are a person who is certainly at the present time unable to control yourself in situations of that kind.

“You obviously have a sexual interest in young girls.”

The defendant is on the sex offenders register indefinitely and also subject to the sexual offences prevention order.
