Police are appealing for information after two men used a small child to steal three pair of shoes from a Fleetwood shop.

The men and a young boy, wandered into Wynsors World of Shoes, on Dock Street before selecting and trying on three pairs of trainers.

Officers said one of the men then distracted staff as the other removed the security tags and passed them to the child to carry out of the shop.

The incident took place on August 21 shortly before 3.15pm.

The shoes taken included black and red Turf 90 trainers size two, a pair of black business wide fit shoes and a pair of blue and white, size nine Adidas Samba trainers.

A spokesman from Lancashire police said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises the two men pictured here in the CCTV images.

“Shoplifting is a serious crime that will be dealt with robustly by Lancashire Police.

“In this instance it is clear these men attended the shop with intention of stealing the shoes.

“I urge anyone who information about the men to contact police quoting log reference LC-20130821-0930.”

All three of the thieves had an irish accent and left in a vehicle, police said.
