POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted during a shocking street attack in Blackpool.

The 26-year-old victim, from Blackpool, was talking to meet a woman when he was approached by three men on Queen Street where it meets Abingdon Street.

One of the men elbowed him, causing him to fall to the ground, before all three men started kicking him. They then left the scene, laughing, in the direction of Dickson Road.

Police have now released three CCTV images of men they would like to speak to in connection with the attack.

PC Mark Postlethwaite, from Blackpool Police, said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises these men to come forward and contact the police.

“This is a nasty incident that has left a man requiring hospital treatment.”

The incident happened at around 3am on Thursday, August 23.

The victim was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The first man is described as white and around 5ft 6in tall with a slim build, short brown hair and was wearing a white T-shirt.

The second man was around 18-years-old, had a large build, dark hair and was wearing a blue t shirt.

Police have described the third man as being in his late teens with a slim build. He was wearing a blue tracksuit.

Anyone with information is asked to call Blackpool Police on 101.
