POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a frightening assault on a teenager in a Blackpool bar.
The 18-year-old has been left badly scarred after being struck to the side of his head with a glass bottle or glass in Yates’s Wine Lodge on the Promenade.
The victim was making his way to the bar when he was attacked, causing a deep laceration, around four inches long, down the side of his face.
Police yesterday released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened just before midnight on Friday, August 10.
They are also keen for anyone who witnesses the assault to get in touch.
Det Con Stuart Reid, from Blackpool CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in Yates’s that night and recalls the incident to contact the police as they may have information that could assist us.
“I am also keen to trace the two men who we have released pictures of.
“If you know these men then please come forward and tell us who they are.
“It appears the victim was hit with a glass bottle or glass.
“This is a nasty assault on an innocent man and the people responsible need to be caught and brought to justice.”
Police say the victim had entered the pub and made his way to the bar where the offenders and group of friends were stood.
As the teenager approached the bar, he was assaulted.
The offenders and their group then fled the bar.
It is thought the people police want to speak to were in Blackpool on a stag do.
