Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a bottle was thrown onto the pitch during a Fleetwood Town match.

The incident happened on Saturday, February 25 when Fleetwood played host to Northampton at Highbury Stadium in a League One fixture, say police.

A spokesman for Fleetwood police said: " We are appealing for help to identify a man we would like to speak to after a bottle was thrown onto the pitch during a football match between Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town.

"During the match a bottle was thrown onto the pitch towards Fleetwood players as they celebrated a goal near to Northampton supporters in the Percy Ronson stand of the stadium.

"We are keen to speak to the man pictured in connection with our on-going enquiries into the incident.

"If anybody recognises him, or has any information about the incident that could assist with our enquiries, we would urge them to get in touch with us."
