A CCTV image has been released by police after a thief was spotted walking around a Blackpool shop helping herself to items.

Officers are keen to speak to the woman pictured, who they believe may have information about the offence, and have appealed to her to contact them.

Police say a woman wearing blue jeans, a black top, and dark trainers, walked into the Late Shop, on Central Drive, in Blackpool posing as a customer. However, when she thought staff weren’t looking she selected several items, including packs of meat, and put them inside her pink bag before leaving.

The incident took place on July 9.

A Lancashire police spokesman, said: “I urge anyone who recognises this woman in the CCTV image to come forward and contact police.

“Shoplifting is seen as a serious offence and we will do everything we can to catch those responsible.”
