POLICE want to speak to this man after a “serious” assault in a town centre bar.

A 20-year-old victim had his jaw broken after he was punched in the face by a thug following an altercation in Blackpool’s Walkabout bar.

And detectives want to trace the man in this CCTV picture in connection with the attack.

Police have described the attack as a “serious” incident and are calling for any witnesses or anyone who may have seen the man in the busy bar at the time to come forward.

The man pictured in the CCTV image at the Queen Street venue was wearing a dark coloured jumper with a collar.

The incident took place at around 3.40am on Tuesday, September 11 after the victim was accused of banging into the offender and spilling his pint.

The two men confronted each other and the 20-year-old was punched violently in the face, which caused his jaw to be broken in two places and left him needing urgent medical assistance.

PC Darren Westhead, of Blackpool Police, said they were keen to get to the bottom of what had happened and he urged people to get in touch.

He added: “This is a serious assault in a busy bar.

“I would appeal to anybody that witnessed it or recognises the man in the CCTV image to come forward.”

Anyone with information can call Blackpool Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
