A BUSINESSMAN who stripped on an internet webcam has been hauled before the courts after being snared in a police sting.
Luciano Ruocco thought he was chatting to a 12-year-old girl – but the ‘youngster’ turned out to be undercover police officer.
The 37-year-old met the ‘girl’ in an internet chatroom, and despite telling her he was “old enough to be her father”, went on to appear naked on a webcam in front of her.
At Blackpool Magistrates’ Court Ruocco, of Warbreck Hill Road, North Shore, pleaded guilty to attempting to cause a 12-year-old girl to look at a person engaged in sexual activity.
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, told the court Ruocco had met the ‘girl’ after logging on to a chat website in September last year, and believed her to be a 12-year-old called Vicky.
There was sexual talk and Ruocco, who said during the webchat that the ‘girl’ he was talking to was a “little young”, asked her personal questions about herself, the court was told.
He also told her: “I wish I could see you, I have my web cam. I am about to go in the shower, would it scare you to see me naked?”
Ruocco then appeared naked on screen and engaged in sexual activity, the court heard.
When quizzed by police, Ruocco, who works as an analyst, said it was possible he had been away from home at the time and had been in a hotel away from his wife and family.
He said he had used the social site before but had not had any contact with anyone underage.
The court was told Ruocco, who had no previous convictions, was addressing his behaviour and had been referred for treatment by his doctor.
Ruocco was bailed by magistrates for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
He has been referred for treatment by his doctor.
