A skimming scammer is being sought by detectives in Layton.
Officers are appealing for information and warning people to be vigilant after a skimming device was found on a cash machine at the Layton Road Co Op.
A CCTV image shows a man acting suspicitously around the machine at 1.30pm on Tuesday February 4, although police only release the picture yesterday.
Shortly after, a woman’s card was swallowed by the machine, although she spotted the device and removed it.
PC Lucy Partington said: “It is fortunate that this lady spotted the device and was able to remove it and report it to staff before anyone else could become a victim.
“We would urge people to be vigilant when using cash machines and if you spot anything at all that you feel is unusual, do not use the machine and report it to the owner of the machine.”
Anyone with any information about this incident should contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log number LC-20140204-0569.
