A wave of vandalism has seen six vehicles damaged on one Fleetwood road since the start of the month.

Police say the overnight offences on Greenfield Road, where windows and mirrors were smashed by yobs, are part of a wider problem in the port.

Five cars were damaged over a two-day period on April 6 and 7. They were on Preston Street, St Peters Place, Lingfield Road, Southfleet Avenue and Meadows Avenue.

Officers say they have also had reports of two vehicles being damaged on Lindel Road and one each on Warrenhurst Road and Radcliffe Road since April 1.

A police spokesman said: “This is just mindless damage with no thought given whatsoever to the poor victims that all face hefty bills to replace the door mirrors and windows that were smashed.

“Someone knows who is responsible for these offences, who can provide information to us so we can locate the offender and put them before the courts.”

Police have urged residents to report rowdy and drunken behaviour at the time, saying they aim to respond immediately where possible.

Anyone with information about the offences is asked to call police on 101.
