WHEN police pulled up a car they found the driver had been taking drugs and his passenger had been drinking.

The duo appeared in court where they admitted a series of driving offences while in Blackpool.

Mohammed Moosa, 28, of Ruskin Street, Preston, pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drugs-namely diazepam.

He also possession of the drugs and driving without a licence and without insurance.

Jamil Raj, 28, of Castleton Road, Preston admitted permitting Moosa to drive the Renault Megane without insurance and permitting him to drive the car without a licence.

Blackpool magistrates heard that the duo had gone for a night out in the resort.

Raj had drunk too much to drive so he asked his friend to take the wheel.

The car was pulled up by police who noticed it swerving across the central white lines.

Moosa was ordered to pay £500 in fines and costs.

Raj was told to pay £340 in fines and costs.
