A drugs raid by police at an address in Fleetwood yielded what was described as a large amount of cannabis.

Officers found 150 grams of the drug when they searched Mikala Hall’s home in Lindel Road.

Hall, 24, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of the drug.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs, plus £15 victims’ surcharge, by District Judge David Scanlon, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said police executed a drugs search warrant at Hall’s address on September 1 and found two large bags of cannabis plus cannabis cultivation equipment.

Patrick Nelligan, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, was eight months’ pregnant and getting specialist counselling to help her stop using cannabis.

Hall and her partner had bought the cannabis in bulk because they were offered it at a discount price, he told the court.
