Police discovered four bags of cannabis bush after raiding a home in Hambleton.
Officers executed a warrant on Green Meadow Lane on Tuesday morning.
A search was made of the property and the cannabis was recovered, along with other evidence that suggests the cannabis was intended to be sold.
No one has been arrested and police say inquiries are ongoing.
PC Dave Kerfoot said: “This was a significant amount of cannabis to find, which we suspect was about to make its way out on to the streets. Thankfully, our activity has prevented this from happening.
“We would like to thank the local community for their help in this matter.
“This sort of work is rarely possibly without information provided by local people who notice what is going on and let us know, and this result shows how successful it can be when the police and local community work together.”
