A man was knocked unconscious after he was hit on the head with half a house brick.

The 28-year-old bus driver was attacked from behind by a man who had demanded his mobile phone in the early hours of Monday, June 3 on Seasiders Way.

The victim didn’t have one, so his attacker searched his bag and stole cash before running off across South car Park, towards Waterloo Road.

The injured man was taken to hospital after the incident at 4.35am, but was not seriously hurt.

Police say the two men had passed each other earlier on Central Drive.

The offender was white, in his late 20s to early 30s, around 6ft tall and of a slim build. He was pale with gaunt features, prominent eyes and short dark hair, and was wearing a light grey hooded top with stripes across the shoulder and down the sleeves, light blue jeans and scruffy white trainers.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident. He, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to call Blackpool Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
