More than 19 litres of alcohol, worth almost £400, has been stolen from a Blackpool hotel.

The haul of booze, which includes 10 bottles of Famous Grouse whiskey, five bottles of Jack Daniels and a bottle of Moet, were taken from The Savoy hotel on Queens Promenade between 11pm on Saturday August 9 and 7am the following day.

It is believed that offenders have done into the hotel and made their way down to the cellar, where they then forced open a workshop door and removed tools including a rubber handled hammer, a screwdriver and a crowbar.

They then searched the staff changing room, though nothing was stolen.

They continued on to the alcohol storage area, where they managed to open the door with the stolen tools.

In total, 28 bottles of spirits were taken as well as the champagne.

They may have left the hotel through a fire exit.

PC Rob Tugman from Lancashire Police said: “I am keen to trace the people involved in this theft and am asking anyone who may have bought alcohol offered for sale locally, particularly in large quantities, to get in touch.”
