Police are clamping down on anti-social behaviour in Blackpool in response to fears raised by residents.

The issue was identified as the public’s biggest concern following an online survey run.

We have designated two vehicles in the evenings and weekends across the Blackpool area, which are tasked and focused on tackling ASB.

Blackpool Police has now assigned two of its vehicles to patrol problem areas during evenings and weekends.

Officers are inviting residents to highlight places they would like the cars to visit by getting in touch on Facebook.

Posting on the social media site, PCSO Josh Perry wrote: “We have designated two vehicles in the evenings and weekends across the Blackpool area, which are tasked and focused on tackling ASB (anti-social behaviour).

“They will be attending ASB incidents and patrolling those areas that are being reported us as hot spots for ASB and criminal activity, including parks, licensed premises and the dark and dingy places that most people do not like to visit.”
