A BLACKPOOL man has been charged with the murders of two people in the North East.
James Allen, 36, formerly of Layton, is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this morning after he was arrested in relation to the deaths of Colin Dunford, in Middlesbrough, and Whitby resident Julie Davison, last week.
He was today charged with two counts of murder and further allegations of rape, false imprisonment, assault and witness intimidation.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed Ms Davison, (right), found dead in her home in Whitby, North Yorkshire, last week, had lived in Sharoe Green Lane, Fulwood, until last year when she returned to the seaside town where she was brought up.
The 50-year-old’s family paid tribute to “one of the kindest people you could ever wish to know” in a moving statement today.
It read: “We are devastated by the sad loss of our lovely Julie.
“She was one of the kindest people you could ever wish to know and went out of her way to help others.
“She did not deserve to die in such terrible circumstances.
“We are so very sad her hopes of building a new life back in her home town of Whitby ended so tragically.
“We would like to thank everyone who has sent us messages of support during this traumatic time.”
