Blackpool fans to mark fatal stabbing anniversary

Seasiders fans will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the fatal stabbing of one of their own tomorrow.

Kevin Olsson was just 17 when he died on Bloomfield Road’s old Spion Kop in a game against Bolton Wanderers on August 23 1974.

No one has ever been convicted over his death.

Members of Blackpool Supporters Association will stop by a memorial plaque at the ground at around 1pm as their coach makes its way to Wigan for this afternoon’s match.

A wreath will be laid by the plaque with a period of reflection held afterwards.
