A medical company officer described as being a binge drinker became involved in a brawl at a takeaway.
David Small, 30, of Stoke Avenue, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour before resort magistrates.
Elliott Taylforth, prosecuting, said the incident took place on October 26 at the Hava Nagila takeaway in North Shore.
Small went inside while people were fighting. He punched a man, dragged him to the floor and kicked him several times.
Trevor Colebourne, defending, said Small’s male partner and a friend went into the takeaway and a man inside made homophobic remarks before starting to fight with them.
Small, he said, went for the man because he was frightened for his friends’ safety.
He was sentenced to 12 months supervision and ordered to pay £85 costs.
