A WOMAN was overpaid benefits after she forgot to tell the authorities when her working boyfriend moved in with her.

Samantha Fitzparick also failed to tell Blackpool Council that her hours of working had increased, a court heard.

As a result Fitzpatrick, 37, of Westbourne Avenue, Blackpool, was overpaid £3,329 in Council Tax and housing benefits.

Lee Petrak, prosecuting, said she was caught when data about her earnings was matched up.

Steven Duffy, defending, said her claim was not fraudulent at the start but became so when her boyfriend moved in permanently.

Fitzpatrick was given an eighteen month conditional discharge.
