Banned boyfriend found in bed

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A DAY after being banned from contacting his girlfriend by a court, a man was found in bed at her home by police.

Paul Smith even had a copy of the conditions of his bail in his pocket when he was arrested after being woken up.

Smith, 25, of Warbreck Drive, North Shore, admitted breaching bail. Blackpool magistrates agreed to rebail him.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Smith had been bailed on October 16 on the condition he did not contact his girlfriend or go to her home on Bloomfield Road.

Police received a tip-off and about 2am on October 17 officers went to Smith’s girlfriend’s flat and found him asleep in bed there. The girlfriend was not in the property.

Robert Castle, defending, said after being released on bail Smith had received texts from his partner saying she loved him and wanted him to come back. Smith’s mother also received messages from the girlfriend expressing the same feelings.

Smith said he realised he had been foolish.
