A campaign to bring about changes to bail law is being stepped up.
The parents of murdered Blackpool nurse, Jane Clough, will appear on ITV’s This Morning today in a bid to highlight The Gazette-backed Justice for Jane campaign.
John and Penny Clough hope a bail amendment bill will be accepted so the crown prosecution service can be given chance to appeal judges’ bail decisions.
The couple will speak about the campaign – which they founded following their 26-year-old daughter’s death at the hands of her ex-partner Jonathan Vass who was out on bail for rape charges – during the show between 10.30am and 12.30pm today.
Mr Clough said: “Let’s hope that 2012 is the year Justice for Jane makes its mark on the legal system and gives victims and their families some much needed changes.”
