This is the man police are hunting following a violent unprovoked attack in a Blackpool bar.

The victim, a 33-year-old local man, was on a night out in Walkabout, on Queen Street, with his girlfriend when he was assaulted by an unknown man.

He was taken to hospital where he needed treatment for a broken jaw after being punched twice during the incident.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to help track down his assailant, who officers are still working to identify.

Det Con Warren Jones, of Blackpool CID, said: “The victim was in the bar with his girlfriend when he has been approached and punched in what appears to be an unprovoked assault.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images or who has any information to contact us.”

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, while the victim was enjoying a post-Christmas night out.
