A MAN repeatedly punched another man leaving him with a cut on his head which needed gluing together at hospital.
Neil Evason, 49, of North Drive, Cleveleys, admitted assault.
He was put on 12 months supervision and ordered to pay £200 compensation to his victim plus £85 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said Evason and another man argued on the street early in the evening of September 26.
The man walked away and was sheltering from the rain in a doorway of a bank on The Strand in Blackpool town centre when Evason hit him on the head.
Steven Townley, defending, said Evason was upset that day because he had been to an interview about his benefits and had been told they were going to be reduced. He had drunk five pints and then argued with his victim.
