A COUPLE accused of assaulting former football star Colin Hendry and his daughter are believed to be living in Thailand, a court heard yesterday.
Hector McFarlane, 63, and his wife Williamina, 61, are thought to be living in South East Asia despite Mr McFarlane being charged with assaulting the former manager of Blackpool FC.
Crown Prosecutor Brett Gerrity successfully applied to re-issue summonses against McFarlane and his wife.
The couple who come from Lytham, were due to have appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ on what was the third listing of their cases.
McFarlane is accused of assaulting Mr Hendry and Rheagan Hendry at a Lytham tapas bar in June last year.
His wife is accused of threatening Miss Hendry on the same evening.
The case has been further adjourned for six weeks.
Mr Gerrity said: “There is a suggestion they (the McFarlanes) are in Thailand.”
Colin Hendry, 47, was the manager of Blackpool FC from 2004 to 2005 and made 14 appearances for the club from 2002 to 2003.
