AN arson probe is underway after a caravan was set alight in central Blackpool.
Police and fire crews were called to the caravan, which was parked on Hornby Road, at around 1am yesterday morning.
Two fire engines from Blackpool fire station, on Newton Drive, attended the scene.
They used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.
The window of the caravan and some clothes inside were completely destroyed as a result.
The caravan, a Safari 1976, also sustained some smoke and heat damage inside.
A Lancashire Police spokesman confirmed the force was investigating.
She said: “Officers did attend the scene and we believe the unknown offender has used some sort of accelerant to start the fire.”
Anyone with information should call 101.
