Detectives have launched a search for a ‘Good Samaritan’ who helped a woman moments after she was sexually assaulted in Blackpool.
The man assisted the 20-year-old local woman just seconds after she was attacked and then robbed in the town centre.
The victim had been approached by her attacker in Abingdon Street shortly before 3.30am on Sunday.
The pair, then walked on to the Promenade near to the war memorial where the man sexually assaulted her.
The attacker then grabbed her handbag before running off in the direction of the Metropole Hotel.
Detectives are appealing for the ‘good Samaritan’ to come forward.

“I believe he may have witnessed some of the incident and it is important we track down this Good Samaritan.
“Understandably, the victim has been left traumatised following her ordeal and we need to find the person responsible.
“This is a nasty attack on an innocent woman and the offender needs to be caught.
“Anyone with any information should call police on 101.”
