Appeal after man assaulted in Blackpool park

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Stanley Park, Blackpool.

The victim, in his 40s, was attacked near the boating lake at the East Park Drive park on Sunday, September 29, between 5pm and 6pm.

He was approached by another man who headbutted him, knocking him unconscious and knocking two of his teeth out.

A 32-year-old man from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has been bailed until November in connection with the offence.

Now police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

PC Marc Armstrong, investigating, said: “I am very keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the park at the time and may have witnessed what happened.

“In particular, I would be keen to speak to three people who were having a picnic nearby – we think they could have vital information that could assist and so we would urge them to come forward.”
