Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14 year old boy was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Fleetwood.

The boy was approached by two older teenagers on the path that cuts through from Greenfield Road to Lindel Road around 9pm on Friday, November 8.

For no reason they punched him in the side of the head before running off. The victim suffered only minor injuries.

Both offenders are described as being white, of stocky build and aged 16-18 years old. One was wearing a grey hooded top whilst the other was wearing a black hooded top with grey sweatpants.

PC Kathy Ridgway said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault, thankfully the boy wasn’t seriously injured.

“If anybody was in the area around the time of the assault and thinks they may have seen the two older teenagers then I would ask them to contact police.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has any information at all which they think could help our investigation.
