“Moronic” vandals have been blamed for further damage to several Grade II-listed Victorian shelters on the Fylde coast.

The historic shelters on the Promenade in St Annes have been vandalised again – leaving just five windows remaining from close to 30 glass panes.

Police volunteer Andew Noble said: “This is costing council taxpayers thousands of pounds and spoiling the family friendly image of our classic resort these mindless vandals need to be caught.

“I am heartbroken at the damage to our traditional seaside resort but even more eager to assist St Annes police and Fylde Council to catch those responsible.”

The windows have been damaged more than a dozen times in the last two years.

The latest incident took place some time between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
