A DOG owner has been ordered to comply with stringent court conditions – or see her pet destroyed.
Jenna Gallimore’s dog Frisco is a prohibited American pit bull terrier bred for fighting.
The two-year-old was seized by police when they discovered him on another call.
25-year-old Gallimore, of Erdington Road, Blackpool, appeared before the resort’s magistrates’ court on Tuesday.
She was told by magistrates Frisco would not be destroyed as long as she complied with a contingent destruction order.
As part of that Gallimore must have the dog neutered and micro-chipped and must pay the registration fee to have Frisco placed on a register maintained by Defra.
Frisco must be kept on a lead and muzzled when he is taken for walks and Gallimore, who agreed to the order, was told she must take out third party insurance and not sell or give away the dog.
PC Duncan Brammer, from Lancashire police’s dog unit, said he was happy Frisco could be returned to Gallimore subject to the order. Gallimore told the court she would ensure the dog was kept in a run in her back garden.
