Blackpool Magistrates Court

A woman who has a reputation as a notorious drunk clocked up her 26th offence of being drunk and disorderly this year.

Antonia Marshall was arrested after police received complaints she was being abusive to children and upsetting them on a Blackpool car park.

Marshall, 33, formerly of Princess Street, Blackpool, now of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

She was fined £35 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge but could not pay immediately so Blackpool magistrates said she must remain in the confines of the court until lunchtime instead.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said on August 17 police found Marshall drunk on Central Car Park after she upset children with her abuse. She also made rude remarks to officers.

Brett Chappell, defending, said his client’s life was haunted by her addiction to alcohol. She was going to see an alcohol rehabilitation specialist later this week.
