Blackpool’s RNLI team and coastguard crews from Lytham and Blackpool were called to rescue a man up to his neck in water off the Fylde coast today.
Police reported the incident, opposite the Imperial Hotel, to the coastguard around 2.30pm.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: “The male was up to his neck in water near the Imperial Hotel.
“We got the call from police and the Blackpool inshore lifeboat crew, Lytham coastguard and Blackpool coastguard were called to help.
“The Blackpool coastguard team arrived first and a crew member used a rescue board and managed to get him ashore.
“He was checked by paramedics before being taken away by officers.”
