A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital following a collision on a Fylde coast road.
Eye witnesses said the biker was travelling along Church Road, Lytham, when he came off his blue Suzuki 600 opposite The County Hotel at around 3pm yesterday.
The motorcycle collided with a blue Fiat 500 Saloon at the junction of Queen Street leaving the man riding the bike with three fractures to his collar bone .
A 200m section of Church Road, Park Road and Agnew Street were closed for around half an hour following the incident.
Jeffrey Read, 62, from St Annes, was outside The County when the crash occurred.
He said: “I saw the car about to pull out of Queen Street and then I saw the bike travelling down Church Road towards Blackpool and I just knew there was going to be an accident, I was expecting a loud bang but it was strangely quiet.
“The rider was thrown from his bike on impact and I ran straight out with a number of other people to see if he was ok.
“He was awake and talking but kept trying to move, I told someone to call an ambulance and told the motorcyclist to stay still.
“He was complaining about a pain in his shoulder and in his leg but I was just so relieved when I saw he was awake.
“A first response vehicle arrived pretty swiftly and then an ambulance came and he was taken away with his neck in a brace.
“A couple of police cars pulled up after that and about 45 minutes later the bike, which was smashed up was recovered.”
Police confirmed they had attended the incident and that several roads were closed following the collision.
