FLEETWOOD Museum Trust is keen to recruit new volunteers for the coming season, which runs each Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm, from March 26 to November 2.
Trust member Dick Gillingham says: “Volunteers usually commit between three and 10 hours per week and all rotas are built around existing family commitments. We are keen to find potential volunteers who may like to help in the stylish Coffee House or to help as gallery assistants, giving information to visitors.”
He adds: “Obviously an interest in the local history of the area would be beneficial.”
This year the museum will feature two special exhibitions. From March 30 to June 15 the spotlight is on Egypt’s Sands to Northern Hills with a wide range of stunning artefacts from 3,000 years of Egyptian history.
Then from June 20 until November 2, the exhibition is Unsinkable, commemorating the Titanic in Lancashire.
Mr Gillingham says: “Trust members are also prepared to visit local organisations to present an illustrated talk about the work of Fleetwood Museum over the past 30 years.”
n Readers interested in becoming a volunteer or who belong to a Fylde coast organisation keen to host a talk should ring the museum during weekday office hours on (01253) 876621.
