Blackpool residents are being encouraged to recycle their old sofas and bulky waste in a special spring clean deal.

Local waste partnership Bulky Matters is offering to take away people’s domestic waste throughout February, March and April and will remove four items for the price of three.

A collection will cost £18. This would normally cover the cost of three items but will pay for four if booked during those three months.

Bulky Matters, the result of a partnership between Blackpool Council and the charity ‘Furniture Matters’, will collect furniture, soft furnishings, domestic electrical appliances, kitchen items, bric-a-brac, IT equipment, toys/games and bicycles, and then distribute them to local reuse and charitable organisations.

To arrange an appointment, ring Customer First on (01253) 477477 and request a Bulky Collection.
