Blackpool’s new mobile recycling service Rover is heading to South Shore.

Since Rover launched at the end of October, hundreds of items of unwanted household items have been deposited.

Now it is due to visit South Shore from today.

Rover will set a route through South Shore on Tuesdays.

Coun Gillian Campbell, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member responsible for streetscene, said: “Since the launch, people from South Shore have been asking when Rover is coming to their neighbourhood. So what we’ve done is plan a route through South Shore that, initially, will stop at numerous locations. We will then pare that down to the most popular locations to maximise its effectiveness.”
