A woman accused of setting a trip-wire across the hallway of a block of flats in St Annes, causing a neighbour to fall, has made her first appearance at court.

Janet Pearson, 57, of Clifton Drive South, St Annes, is charged with assaulting her neighbour and causing her actual bodily harm.

The offence is alleged to have taken place on January 21 this year and the complainant is said to have suffered a wrist injury and facial swelling.

Pearson pleaded not guilty to the offence and was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 3 by District Judge James Hatton sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

She must not have any contact with the complainant or the complainant’s son as a condition of her bail.
