Thousands of people are set to join the party tomorrow in Fleetwood as football fans celebrate winning promotion to League One.
Fleetwood Town FC is hosting a Party on the Pitch event at Highbury Stadium from 1pm to 10pm in place of a traditional victory parade.
A civic reception at the ground will see the Mayor of Wyre among the first to congratulate the players and club officials on their achievement.
The community fun day will see local bands perform for the crowds and a junior football tournament take place at the stadium.
Free tickets were made available to the general public yesterday.
Club chairman Andy Pilley said: “Our tremendous promotion success at Wembley Stadium should be celebrated and we will do that this Saturday at our family event.
“The Fleetwood Town supporters were magnificent at Wembley and Saturday will be a good opportunity to share our success with those supporters who did not make the trip on Monday.”
Leader of Wyre Council Peter Gibson has added his voice to those praising the teams efforts and will be at the stadium for the civic reception.
He said: “Congratulations on a fantastic achievement.
“It was a wonderful day and what a result for the supporters.
“Promotion will bring a massive boost for both residents and businesses as the bigger clubs like Preston, Sheffield United and Coventry will bring more people to the town on a regular basis.
“Well done to everyone involved.”
