There was community spirit in abundance as the people of Freckleton turned in force to celebrate the summer.
One family travelled from as far as Australia for Freckleton Club day on Saturday, which saw a procession through the village before wreaths were laid at the war memorial.
Coun Tommy Threlfall said the event was one of the biggest in the village’s calendar.
“The whole event went really well,” he said.
The event was to be followed by the 50th Freckleton Half Marathon on Sunday.
Another community event has been hailed the best ever in Fleetwood.
Scores of people enjoyed the warm weather during Fleetwood Carnival, which saw 26 floats including an open top parade bus by Fleetwood Town.
Carnival secretary Vicky Robinson said: “People were saying it was the best one we’d ever had.”
