A man stood by the sea’s edge after an argument with his partner, prompting Lifeboat crews to be launched.

A boat from RNLI Blackpool was called out to the sea adjacent to the Cliffs Hotel at around 9.40pm, yesterday, but stood down around 10 minutes later after the man ran away.

A spokesman for Liverpool Coastguard, which led the operation said: “He walked out but then walked back again, and then just ran off. It appeared he’d had a bit of a domestic with his wife or girlfriend.”
