Blackpool will host a world record attempt tomorrow when attraction operator Merlin rolls a giant beach ball along the sands near Central Pier.
The inflatable will be an exact replica of a regular beach ball except for its 18 meter diameter size.
Once inflated, it will be high as three houses or the same height as The White House in Washington DC, and will hopefully beat the current record of 15.82 metres which was presented and measured in Czluchow, Poland, on May 8 2012.
The attempt, which is the first by a UK team, is due to take place between 9am and 11am.
The bold stunt is part of the Blackpoolsback campaign, which has also seen Merlin link up with Blackpool Council to fund a national television advertising campaign.
