What a cutie! Perfect pooch Pebbles beat off the competition from hundreds of entrants to be crowned the winner of this year’s Gazette Star Pets competition.

The cute canine was picked as the Fylde coast’s most adorable pet by Gazette readers, taking home the coveted title to the delight of proud owner, Frank Ward of Highbank Avenue, Marton.

The overjoyed owner received the award from Sandra Smith at Moy Vets.

He said: “I’m delighted Pebbles was named winner.

“It’s great to know we have the Fylde coast’s most adorable pet.”

The competition began last August, with readers invited to send pictures of their lovable pets for the must-win prize.

Entrants were whittled down from more than 100 to 30, then a further 20 before a top 10 was revealed.

Following a text vote, Pebbles was named winner, earning a Pets at Home voucher and a commemorative trophy.

A spokesman for sponsors Moy Vets said: “We at Moy Vets are very proud to have sponsored The Gazette Star Pets competition.

“We would like to pass on our congratulations to the winner, Pebbles and her owner Frank.
