This summer’s largest community concert is returning to a Poulton park.
Our Big Gig will see towns and cities across the country host their own music festivals in parks and open spaces.
July’s event will be held in the town’s Jean Stansfield Memorial Park and feature performances from groups, schools and solo artists from across the Fylde coast.
Our Big Gig will see a stage erected in the park and Stephanie Hasty, from Friends of Jean Stansfield Memorial Park, said they are looking forward to another bumper concert in the summer.
She said: “We are really excited.
“We all enjoyed it last year and want another great day in Poulton.
“This is all about showing off your talent and we have quite a few bands interested in playing for free.
“There’s people from high schools that are great pianists or singers and we want to showcase them to the wider community and have fun.
“We are in the middle of trying to gauge if we can get a sponsor for the stage, which is looking quite promising at the moment, but we have also had an offer from a business to build a stage if we can’t get one.”
Katharine Lane, director of Superact, a music and arts group running the shows, said: “Our Big Gig is a fantastic opportunity for organisations to put on a musical event in their community and reach out to people they may not yet know.
“While Superact has been running community music events across the UK for years, we never cease to be amazed at the unifying power of music.”
