Homeowner foils bike theft attempt

Two burglars seen trying to take a bike from a shed were foiled in their plot when a homeowner saw them.

A wooden gate was smashed for the man and woman to gain access to a shed and they were spotted taking a bike from it.

But, after being disturbed by a homeowner, they ran off, leaving the bike behind.

The incident happened on Alexandra Road, in South Shore, on Thursday, June 5.

The man is described a being 5ft 8in tall, with black hair and wearing green camouflage dungarees, a grey jacket and sandals. The woman is described as having long dark hair, wearing dark clothing and carrying a black holdall. They are both believed to be in their 30s.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 460.
